Anodizing is electrochemistry, not coating. Type II for decorative work, Type III for hardcoat — sealed in either hot deionised water or nickel-acetate, dyed where the customer wants color. The chemistry is qualified to MIL-A-8625; the surface that goes into the bath is prepared in our shop to the finish you want coming out. 阳极氧化是电化学,不是涂层。装饰用二型,硬质氧化用三型——在热去离子水或乙酸镍中封闭,按客户要求染色。化学工艺按MIL-A-8625做资质认证;进缸的表面在我们车间按出缸期望的成品状态做前处理。

The aluminium grows its own surface.铝材自己长出表面

Unlike a coating that sits on top of the metal, anodize is the metal — the aluminium surface itself reacted under controlled current density into a porous, hard, and chemically stable oxide layer. Type II runs at 12–22V and 1.5 A/dm² for a thin, dyeable film; Type III runs colder and harder at 25–90V and 2–3 A/dm² for a thick, load-bearing oxide that survives military-spec wear and salt-spray.

Substrate matters. 6061 anodizes evenly with a clean grey-to-bronze finish; 7075 reads slightly yellower because of the zinc; cast aluminium and high-silicon alloys get blotchy and need a conversion coat instead. We caveat substrates at quote time — we don't oversell anodize on alloys it doesn't suit.

Type II 5–25μm oxide thickness, dyeable in any color, sealed in hot DI water or nickel-acetate. Decorative + light corrosion protection. Salt-spray ≥ 336h.
Type III hardcoat 25–100μm oxide, severe-service wear and abrasion resistance. Black or natural bronze. Used on bow risers, outdoor hardware, drone arms. Salt-spray ≥ 1000h.
MIL-A-8625 Both Type II and Type III qualified to MIL-A-8625F. Demanding programs ship with batch certs and salt-spray witness coupons.

Surface to perfection.表面至臻

Whatever pattern is on the aluminium when it enters the anodize bath becomes part of the finished surface — and the anodize bath magnifies it. A milling cusp that's invisible on bare metal becomes a visible grain after Type III. A scratch becomes a high-contrast line. A patch of inconsistent grain becomes a darker zone. Pretreatment is therefore where finish quality is decided, not in the chemistry.

We run a full set of in-house prep operations to take parts from as-machined to ready-for-anodize, each tuned to the desired final appearance — from heavy matte (hides toolmarks) finishes through fine satin and on to mirror-grade gloss. Manual where geometry demands operator judgement; automated where program volume earns a robotic cell.

Vibratory tumbling Bulk parts in ceramic, plastic, or steel media. Uniform matte, satin, or bright finish across complex geometry. 4–24-hour cycles depending on starting condition and target finish.
Drag finishing Larger parts dragged through heavier media for aggressive deburr and uniform matte. Common for bow risers, machined housings, structural brackets.
Bead blasting Uniform matte texture in multiple grit sizes (glass / aluminium oxide / steel shot). Standard prep for Type III hardcoat and the foundation of most matte anodize aesthetics.
Manual polishing Operator-buffed through progressive grit (240 → 400 → 600 → 800 → mirror). Used for low-volume programs, complex geometry, and show-surface aesthetics where operator judgement matters.
Robotic polishing Repeatable buffing for high-volume programs. ABB IRB arm with force-feedback head — consistent satin or near-mirror finish across thousands of identical parts.
Pretreatment chemistry Alkaline degrease + deox + pre-etch per substrate. Removes shop oils, surface oxides, and machining residue before the part enters the bath. Recipe per alloy.
Range achievable From Ra 3.2μm heavy matte (deep tumble + Type III) through Ra 0.4μm satin (machine-polish + Type II) to Ra 0.05μm mirror (full polish + Type II clear) — driven entirely by the prep upstream of the bath.

Hydrographic pattern transfer.水转印花纹转移

Water-transfer printing — also called immersion printing, hydro-dipping, or hydrographics — is the workhorse of outdoor-sports decoration. Realtree®, Mossy Oak®, Kryptek partner patterns plus woodgrains, carbon-fiber, and custom OEM prints, applied to bow risers, crossbow stocks, hunting accessories, fishing reels, and just about anything else that ships into the woods or onto the water.

The film does the wrap. Water does the work.膜负责包覆。水完成工作

The pattern lives on a thin water-soluble PVA film. The film floats on a water bath; an activator solvent is sprayed across it; the film softens to a stretchable ink layer. The pre-primed part is then dipped through the surface — the ink wraps around every contour as the part submerges, the water dissolves what's left of the carrier film, and the part comes out the bottom carrying the full pattern. Rinse, dry, topcoat, cure. Done.

The reason hydrographic dominates outdoor camo is geometry. A camouflaged bow riser has compound curves, undercuts, and tight recesses — anywhere a stencil or screen-print can't go. Hydrographic wraps everything in one dip, with no seams. 水转印之所以主导户外迷彩,原因在于几何形状。迷彩弓身有复合曲面、内凹与狭窄凹槽——任何模板或丝网印刷都无法触及的位置。水转印一次浸涂全包覆,没有接缝。

Three sprayed-and-cured coatings cover most of what falls outside anodize and hydrographic scope. Powder coat for durable industrial finishes and high-volume RAL color matches; 2K automotive paint for carbon body kits and cosmetic-class consumer products; Cerakote for the toughest outdoor and industrial service environments.

Powder coat is the volume choice. Electrostatically sprayed dry polymer powder, gas-cured at 200°C, produces a thick (60–120μm), tough, evenly-colored finish at low cost and high throughput. Limitation: doesn't take fine detail and won't sit on plastic substrates that can't survive the cure oven.

Wet 2K automotive paint is the cosmetic choice — primer, basecoat, clearcoat in a downdraft booth, IR-cured for next-day handling. Color match to Pantone or PPG references with ΔE under 1.0. The choice for carbon-fiber body panels, premium consumer products, and anywhere the finish itself is selling the part.

Cerakote is the durability choice. A ceramic-matrix coating (now widely used in outdoor and industrial finishes; originally developed for the firearms market) that survives saltwater immersion, abrasion, and chemical exposure that destroys conventional paint. We run H-series (oven-cured) for production and Elite for the harshest service.

Powder coat Polyester, epoxy, hybrid powders. Electrostatic spray, 200°C cure, 60–120μm DFT. RAL color match standard; custom on request. Best for steel, aluminium, structural parts.
2K automotive paint Polyurethane 2K with hardener — primer, basecoat, clearcoat. Pantone / PPG / RAL match in-house. ΔE < 1.0 verified per lot. Class 7 filtered downdraft booth.
Cerakote H-series for production (oven cure 250°F), Elite for hardest service. Compatible with MIL-PRF-32348 referenced specs. Wide color range; mixed colors possible.
Color match In-house spectrophotometer (X-Rite) for Pantone, RAL, and custom references. ΔE < 1.0 standard, < 0.5 achievable for premium programs.
Surface prep Sandblast (glass / aluminium oxide / sized grit), chemical etch, alkaline degrease. Phosphate or alodine conversion coat for steel and aluminium prior to powder or paint.

Sheen and texture are independent of color — every spray finish and most hydrographic topcoats are available across the full range. Logos, serial numbers, 2D data-matrix codes, regulatory marks, graphics. Multiple technologies cover the spectrum — fiber laser for permanent metal and anodized marking, pad printing and silk-screen for inked logos and area graphics, heat-transfer for high-detail decals on drinkware and cylindrical surfaces, and water-slide decals for fine detail on primed consumer products. All run on the finishing line so a part is fully decorated before it gets to assembly.

A fiber laser doesn't add anything to a part — it heats the metal surface to either ablate, anneal, or oxidise it, depending on power and dwell. Permanent, weldless, no consumables. We run two 20W IPG fiber markers at ±0.01mm position accuracy with 12-bit greyscale, enough resolution for both photo-quality logos and ISO-compliant 2D Data Matrix codes that survive blasting and decades of service. 光纤激光不向零件添加任何东西——它只加热金属表面,按功率与停留时间使其烧蚀、退火或氧化。永久、无焊接、无耗材。我们运行两台20W IPG光纤激光机,定位精度±0.01毫米、12位灰度——足以打印照片质量的logo以及符合ISO标准的2D Data Matrix二维码,可抵抗喷砂与数十年使用。

Pad and screen printing add ink to a finished surface. Pad printing works on small detailed logos and irregular shapes — silicone pad picks up ink from an etched cliché plate and transfers it to the part. Screen printing works on flat or near-flat areas with larger coverage. Both run with UV-cure inks for fast handling and Pantone color match.

Multi-process programs. Most production parts get more than one finish — a bow riser anodized then laser-engraved, a body kit primed-painted-cleared then pad-printed with brand graphics, a drone sight anodized then Cerakoted on selective surfaces. We sequence and document multi-process finishing so the part travels through the line under one work order, not three.

Finishing failures show up in the field — months after ship, sometimes years. The only way to catch them at our line is by testing what you can test before pack-out: thickness, adhesion, salt-spray, hardness, and color. Every program ships with the data; every lot has witness coupons archived. 表面处理的失效问题往往在客户现场出现——出货后数月、有时数年才显现。唯一在我们产线上能预防的方法,是在打包前对可测项目做测试:厚度、附着力、盐雾、硬度、颜色。每个项目出货均附数据,每批留存见证试片。

Finish programs are best quoted with reference samples. Color, texture, gloss level, and pattern intent are hard to convey in drawings — a physical sample plate or a previous production unit accelerates the spec lock and reduces first-article cycle time. 表面处理项目最好附实物样品报价。颜色、质感、光泽度、图案意向在图纸上难以表达——一块实物样板或一件上一代量产产品能加速规格锁定,缩短首件检验周期。

Most finish disputes trace back to "the color isn't quite right" or "the gloss is wrong" — both avoidable by locking the spec against a physical reference before the program runs. We send first-article spray-out cards or coated witness plates for customer sign-off; production runs against the signed reference, not against an interpretation of the drawing.

Quote turn-around runs five to seven business days for new finish programs. First-article cycle two to three weeks (includes spray-outs, witness plates, salt-spray on Type III hardcoat programs). Production ships within program lead time once spec is locked.

A finishing engineer comes back with a process proposal, witness-plate timeline, and an honest read on which coatings fit the program — including what we'd recommend differently if the spec is over- or under-engineered.
